C = Concise

Meaning: Conciseness in instructional design means delivering content that is clear, to the point, and devoid of unnecessary complexity or redundancy. It prioritizes the essential information that learners need to achieve their educational goals.

Implementation:

  • Clarity and Precision: Use straightforward language and avoid jargon unless it is essential and well-explained.
  • Focused Content: Eliminate fluff and ensure each piece of information directly contributes to the learning objectives.
  • Bite-sized Learning: Break down complex topics into manageable, easily digestible segments to facilitate better understanding and retention.
  • Example: Instead of presenting a long lecture on a topic, create short, focused video clips that cover specific aspects, making it easier for students to grasp and retain the information.
